HubSpot import templates and field mappings

What a HubSpot import actually fills, field by field, with the API name for each one. 18 fields across 24 ready-made mappings for 24 different exports. Operelio can write to HubSpot directly, or hand you a file to import.

What HubSpot’s own importer does

Worth knowing before the file goes in, because each of these shows up as a failed row rather than a warning.

  • Without a unique column such as Email or Record ID, HubSpot imports every row as a new record, so a list you believe is clean quietly doubles.
  • A row that matches an existing duplicate errors out rather than importing.
  • Required properties have to match exactly, including picklist values that must already exist.

The fields Operelio maps into HubSpot

Ordered by how many of the 24 templates fill each one, so what a typical import populates comes first. The API name is what HubSpot calls the field underneath its label.

Every template also lists the columns it deliberately does not map, and why, on its own page.

How the data gets into HubSpot

Two routes. Connect HubSpot over OAuth on the Starter plan and above, and Operelio writes the records itself. Or format the file on any plan, including Free, and import it yourself.

  • Records are matched on email. New ones are created, existing ones updated, and the preview tells you how many of each before anything is sent.
  • On an existing record it fills blank fields only, unless you ask it to overwrite every mapped field.
  • It never deletes. Duplicates and dead records are reported back to you as a list, and removing them stays your call.

Questions

Which fields does Operelio map into HubSpot?

18 across the 24 HubSpot templates: Email, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Company Name, Country/Region and the rest. Every mapping shows the API name HubSpot expects next to its label, and you can change any of them before the file is written.

Can Operelio send data straight into HubSpot?

Yes. Connect HubSpot over OAuth on the Starter plan and above, and Operelio writes the records for you. It matches on email, creates what is new, updates what already exists, and fills blank fields only unless you ask it to overwrite. It never deletes anything.

How many exports have a ready-made HubSpot mapping?

24, covering the usual prospecting, forms, commerce and CRM-to-CRM sources. Each one is a full field-by-field mapping you can use as it comes or adjust, and a source with no template can be mapped by hand in the CRM Formatter.
