Switching from ActiveCampaign to HubSpot, or syncing both? This template maps your ActiveCampaign contact export (name, email, phone, org, job title, and full mailing address) into HubSpot contact properties. ActiveCampaign also exports Tags, Status, and Date Unsubscribed columns that don't have a default HubSpot home. The section below explains what to do with each one if you need it.
Field-by-field mapping
This is the complete column mapping from ActiveCampaign to HubSpot. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the HubSpot field it should map to.

Columns we don't use
Your ActiveCampaign export includes 3 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in HubSpot.
- Tags
ActiveCampaign tags export as a comma-separated string. HubSpot uses static lists and properties rather than free-form tags.
If you need it. After import, create HubSpot static lists matching your ActiveCampaign tags and add contacts in bulk using a saved view.
- Status
ActiveCampaign's Status column records subscription state (Active, Unsubscribed, Bounced). HubSpot manages opt-in via its own subscription preferences, not a contact property.
If you need it. Filter out unsubscribed and bounced rows before upload so they don't land in HubSpot as active contacts. Then set subscription preferences in HubSpot for the rest.
- Date Unsubscribed
ActiveCampaign records the date a contact unsubscribed in this column. HubSpot tracks unsubscribe events on the contact's timeline rather than as a property.
If you need it. Filter out rows with a Date Unsubscribed value before upload. If you want the date preserved, create a custom date property in HubSpot called Unsubscribed Date and map this column to it.
Formatting and cleanup
ActiveCampaign exports rarely match the format HubSpot expects. Fix these before you import.

How do I export contacts from ActiveCampaign?
Go to Contacts in your ActiveCampaign account, select your list or use filters, click Export, and choose CSV format.
What happens to my ActiveCampaign tags?
Tags don't map to a default HubSpot property. See 'Columns we don't use' below for how to recreate them as HubSpot static lists.
Are custom fields from ActiveCampaign preserved?
This template maps the standard contact fields listed above. Custom ActiveCampaign fields appear in the export but need manual mapping in Operelio to reach HubSpot.
What about automation and email history?
ActiveCampaign's contact export includes field data only. Automation history, email opens, and campaign engagement data don't export to CSV and won't transfer.
Will this create duplicates in HubSpot?
HubSpot uses email as the unique identifier. Contacts with matching emails update the existing record. New emails create new contacts.
