Where Lusha User Data and HubSpot don’t line up

One Contact name column, two name fields

Lusha User Data gives the whole name in Contact name, and HubSpot keeps First Name and Last Name apart.

The template takes the first word for First Name and the rest for Last Name.

Three phone columns, two phone fields

Lusha User Data splits numbers across Mobile, Direct phone and Phone. HubSpot formats each one by its country code, so a number saved without one stays as it is.

The template sends Mobile to Mobile Phone Number. Phone Number takes the first of Direct phone and Phone that has a value.

No lifecycle stage or lead status in the export

Lusha User Data's export has no lifecycle stage or lead status column. In HubSpot, an import can move a contact's lifecycle stage forward but never back.

The template sets Lifecycle Stage to Lead and Lead Status to New on every row. Change either, or drop them, before you import if your process differs.

One column kept in Notes

This template gives Sub industry no HubSpot field of its own. A HubSpot contact has no Notes field: imported with contacts and notes together, the text becomes a note on the contact.

The template writes them into Notes, each with its label, and leaves empty ones out.

Lusha User Data to HubSpot in three steps

Step 1Export from Lusha
  1. Open the Lusha table that holds your revealed contacts.
  2. To export some of them, check the box next to the Contact column (up to 150 at a time) and click Export to CSV.
  3. To export the whole table, click the export icon and select Export table.
  4. The file downloads to your computer, and past files stay under Export history.

The full All contacts table can't be exported as a single file.

For users who are not admins, CSV export is a Scale plan permission.

  1. Paste the export at A1 of Paste your export here.
  2. Start here checks all 10 columns were found.
  3. Save HubSpot Contacts import as a CSV.

Works in Excel for Microsoft 365 and Google Sheets. Excel 2019 and older, Apple Numbers and LibreOffice can't run the formulas this file uses.

Step 3Import into HubSpot
  1. On the Contacts page, click Add contacts in the top right and choose Import, or go to Data Management, then Data Integration.
  2. Click Import data, choose the advanced import for all objects, select Contacts and Notes and click Next.
  3. Upload your file, keep Create and update contacts as the import type, and click Next.
  4. Check the column mapping. Email is the unique identifier, and the Notes column goes to Note body. Click Next.
  5. Name the import, check the consent box and click Finish import.

Where does Lusha User Data's export fill Email, which HubSpot requires?

Email comes from Lusha User Data's Work email column, lowercased. The checker above counts the rows with Email blank.

Where does Sub industry go?

Into one note on each contact, labeled like "Sub-industry: Food Production". Importing the same contacts again adds a second note.

Which Lusha export does this template expect?

The User Data export, which ships a single Contact name column, three email slots (Work email, Work email 2, Private email), and six type-named phone slots (Mobile, Mobile 2, Phone, Phone 2, Direct phone, Direct phone 2).
