Export your Constant Contact list and bring those contacts into HubSpot. This template maps name, email, phone, company, job title, and full address fields. Constant Contact exports also include Birthday, List Memberships, and Email Permission Status columns that don't have a default HubSpot home. The section below explains what to do with each one if you need it.
Field-by-field mapping
This is the complete column mapping from Constant Contact to HubSpot. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the HubSpot field it should map to.

Columns we don't use
Your Constant Contact export includes 3 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in HubSpot.
- Birthday
HubSpot doesn't have a built-in birthday property on contacts.
If you need it. Create a custom date property in HubSpot called Birthday, then re-run this template to map it.
- List Memberships
Constant Contact list membership exports as a comma-separated string. HubSpot uses static lists as containers, not contact properties.
If you need it. After import, create HubSpot static lists matching your Constant Contact lists and add contacts in bulk using a saved view.
- Email Permission Status
Constant Contact's permission column records subscription state (Implicit, Explicit, Unsubscribed). HubSpot manages opt-in via its own subscription preferences, not a contact property.
If you need it. Filter out Unsubscribed rows before upload so they don't land in HubSpot as active contacts. Set subscription preferences in HubSpot for the rest.
Formatting and cleanup
Constant Contact exports rarely match the format HubSpot expects. Fix these before you import.

- 2.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
- 3.Maps Company Name to HubSpot's company property
- 4.Converts Postal Code to text format to preserve leading zeros (e.g. '01234')

List Memberships doesn't map to a default HubSpot property. See 'Columns we don't use' below for how to recreate them as HubSpot static lists.
Will postal codes with leading zeros be preserved?
Yes. The template formats postal codes as text so values like '01234' keep the leading zero instead of turning into '1234'.
Will this create duplicates in HubSpot?
HubSpot uses email as the unique identifier. Contacts with matching emails update the existing record. New emails create new contacts.
