How to import Wix data into HubSpot

Export your Wix site contacts and import them into HubSpot. This template maps name, email, phone, company, position, and full address. Wix exports also include Subscriber Status, Tags, and Date Created columns that don't have a default HubSpot home. The section below explains what to do with each one if you need it.

Columns we don't use

Your Wix export includes 3 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in HubSpot.

Subscriber Status

Wix's Subscriber Status column records whether each contact opted in to email marketing. HubSpot manages opt-in via its own subscription preferences, not a contact property.

If you need it. Filter out rows where Subscriber Status is 'Not subscribed' before upload so unsubscribed contacts don't get marketing communications. Then set subscription preferences in HubSpot for the rest.

Tags

Wix exports labels as a comma-separated string in the Tags column. HubSpot uses static lists and properties rather than free-form tags.

If you need it. After import, create HubSpot static lists matching your Wix labels and add contacts in bulk using a saved view.

Date Created

Wix records when each contact was first added. HubSpot's createdate is set by HubSpot on import, so we don't overwrite it.

If you need it. Create a custom date property in HubSpot called Wix Created if you want to preserve the original timestamp, then re-run this template to map it.

Formatting and cleanup

Wix exports rarely match the format HubSpot expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  2. 2.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  3. 3.Maps Wix's Position field to HubSpot's jobtitle property
  4. 4.Converts 'Zip code' column name to HubSpot's zip field

Or skip the manual work

Wix to HubSpot FAQ

How do I export contacts from my Wix site?

In your Wix dashboard, go to Contacts, click the three-dot menu, and select 'Export contacts'. Choose CSV format.

Are form submissions and site inquiries included?

Yes. Wix combines all contacts into one list, including people who submitted forms, made purchases, or signed up through your site.

What about Wix Stores order data?

This template maps contact fields only. The contacts export doesn't include order history, purchase amounts, or product details from Wix Stores.

What does the Position field contain?

Position is Wix's name for job title. It maps to HubSpot's jobtitle property. If your contacts don't have a position set, the field will be blank.

What about Wix labels and subscription status?

Neither maps to a default HubSpot property. See 'Columns we don't use' below for how to handle each one.

Will this create duplicates in HubSpot?

HubSpot uses email as the unique identifier. Contacts with matching emails update the existing record. New emails create new contacts.
