Columns we don't use

Your Salesforce export includes 8 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Zoho Leads.

Website

Zoho Leads doesn't have a built-in Website field on the standard layout.

If you need it. Add a custom URL field on the Zoho Lead called Website, then re-run this template to map it.

Street, City, State, PostalCode, Country

Zoho Leads doesn't have a Mailing address block on the standard layout. Those fields live on Zoho Contacts. Salesforce's address columns get dropped unless you add custom fields on the Lead.

If you need it. Add custom address fields on the Zoho Lead, or convert leads to contacts after import to capture the address block.

Industry

Zoho has an Industry picklist on the Lead, but its values are set per-org and may not match Salesforce's industry names exactly.

If you need it. Map Salesforce's Industry to Zoho's Industry after upload. Add any missing values to Zoho's Industry picklist first so every row imports.

Description

Zoho Leads doesn't have a Description field on the standard layout.

If you need it. Add a custom multi-line text field on the Zoho Lead called Description (or Notes), then re-run this template to map it.

Formatting and cleanup

Salesforce exports rarely match the format Zoho Leads expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  2. 2.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  3. 3.Renames Salesforce columns to Zoho's underscored API names (First_Name, Last_Name, Lead_Source, Lead_Status)
  4. 4.Maps Salesforce LeadSource and Status directly to Zoho's Lead_Source and Lead_Status picklists

Or skip the manual work

Operelio runs this cleanup and mapping for you. Upload your Salesforce export and download a clean, import-ready file for Zoho Leads.

Salesforce to Zoho Leads FAQ

How do I export leads from Salesforce?

In Salesforce, go to Leads, build a list view with all the fields you need, then use the Export option from the Setup menu or a report. Download the CSV.

Will Salesforce's LeadSource picklist values match Zoho's?

Not by default. Each org's picklist values are custom. Before import, add any Salesforce LeadSource values to Zoho's Lead Source picklist so every row imports without errors. Same for Status.

What about Salesforce Contacts and Accounts?

This template handles Salesforce Leads only. Salesforce Contacts map to Zoho Contacts, and Salesforce Accounts map to Zoho Accounts. Both require separate exports and different mapping templates.

Will this create duplicate leads in Zoho?

Zoho uses Email as the unique-value field on leads by default, so rows with matching emails update the existing record rather than creating a duplicate. You can change the match field in Setup, Data Administration, Deduplication if your team uses a different convention.

What about custom Salesforce fields?

This template maps the 8 fields listed above. Custom fields appear in the export but need manual mapping in Operelio. Add custom fields on the Zoho Lead first, then map them in the column-mapping step before download.
