How to import ActiveCampaign data into Pipedrive

Move your ActiveCampaign contacts into Pipedrive. The template combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field, matches Organization to a Pipedrive org, and maps email, phone, and job title. ActiveCampaign's full mailing address and unsubscribe metadata don't have a default Pipedrive home. The section below explains what to do with each one if you need it.

Field-by-field mapping

This is the complete column mapping from ActiveCampaign to Pipedrive. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Pipedrive field it should map to.

Pipedrive uses a single Name field, so we combine the two ActiveCampaign columns into one.

Columns we don't use

Your ActiveCampaign export includes 8 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Pipedrive.

Mailing Address 1, Mailing City, Mailing State, Mailing Zip, Mailing Country

Pipedrive contacts don't store address fields by default. Addresses live on organizations.

If you need it. If you need the address on the contact, add custom address fields in Pipedrive and re-run this template. Otherwise let the organization address handle it.

Tags

ActiveCampaign tags export as a comma-separated string. Pipedrive uses Filters and Labels rather than free-form tags.

If you need it. After import, build Pipedrive filters by tag value, or use Pipedrive label colors to mark imported contacts by segment.

Status

ActiveCampaign tracks subscriber status (Active, Unsubscribed, Bounced). Pipedrive contacts don't have a default subscriber-status field.

If you need it. Filter Unsubscribed and Bounced rows out of the CSV before upload, or add a custom single-select field on the Pipedrive contact to track status.

Date Unsubscribed

Pipedrive doesn't have a default unsubscribe-date field on contacts.

If you need it. Add a custom date field on the Pipedrive contact called Date Unsubscribed, then re-run this template to map it.

Formatting and cleanup

ActiveCampaign exports rarely match the format Pipedrive expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field
  2. 2.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  3. 3.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  4. 4.Matches Organization to an existing Pipedrive organization, or creates a new one

Or skip the manual work

ActiveCampaign to Pipedrive FAQ

How do I export contacts from ActiveCampaign?

In ActiveCampaign, go to Contacts, select the segment you want, click Export, and choose CSV.

Why do you combine First Name and Last Name?

Pipedrive contacts use a single Name field, not separate first/last. The template combines the two columns with a space so each contact record displays correctly.

How is Organization handled?

Organization names match against existing Pipedrive organizations. If no match exists, the template creates a new organization and links the contact to it.

What about unsubscribed contacts?

Filter rows where Status is 'Unsubscribed' or 'Bounced' before upload to avoid importing contacts who've opted out.

Will this create duplicate contacts in Pipedrive?

Pipedrive's import dedupes on Name plus one of email, phone, or organization. An ActiveCampaign contact matches an existing Pipedrive contact when the name and email both align. Contacts whose name spelling differs from the existing record create a new contact even when the email matches.
