Where Mailchimp and monday CRM don’t line up

Mailchimp keeps First Name and Last Name apart, and monday CRM has one Name field.

The template joins them, leaving out any that are empty.

Mailchimp to monday CRM in three steps

Step 1Export from Mailchimp
  1. Click Audience, and choose the audience from the dropdown if you have more than one.
  2. Click Export audience.
  3. Click Export CSV and wait for the email saying the export is complete.
  4. Download the file. It may arrive as a ZIP with one CSV per contact status.

Only Owners and Admins can export audiences, and the files stay in your account for 30 days.

Works in Excel for Microsoft 365 and Google Sheets. Excel 2019 and older, Apple Numbers and LibreOffice can't run the formulas this file uses.

Step 3Import into monday CRM
  1. Open the Contacts board, open the New contact dropdown and select Import contacts.
  2. Browse to your file or drag it in.
  3. Choose the group to add the items to.
  4. Match each file column to a board column or a new column, or skip it.
  5. Set the duplicate behavior (add as new, skip or update) and click Import Now.

Why do First Name and Last Name become one Name field in monday CRM?

monday CRM items have a single Name column, not separate first and last name columns. The template combines the two Mailchimp columns with a space so each item displays correctly on the board.
