How to import LinkedIn Connections data into Pipedrive
When you download your LinkedIn data (Settings, Data Privacy, Get a copy of your data), you get a Connections.csv file. This template maps the export to Pipedrive's contact fields: it combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field, matches the Company to an organization, and maps the job title and email. Emails are lowercased and name fields are title-cased. One thing to know before you start: LinkedIn only includes the email of a connection who turned on email sharing, typically 10 to 30 percent of rows, so most rows land in Pipedrive without an email. The LinkedIn URL and the Connected On date have no native Pipedrive contact field; the Columns we don't use section covers both.
Field-by-field mapping
This is the complete column mapping from LinkedIn Connections to Pipedrive. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Pipedrive field it should map to.

Columns we don't use
Your LinkedIn Connections export includes 2 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Pipedrive.
- URL
Pipedrive contacts have no native LinkedIn field.
If you need it. Add a custom Link field on the Pipedrive contact called LinkedIn, then map URL to it by hand in the column mapper.
- Connected On
Pipedrive contacts have no native field for the date a LinkedIn connection was made. Pipedrive's own Created date is set when the contact is created in Pipedrive.
If you need it. Add a custom date field on the Pipedrive contact called LinkedIn Connected On, then map this column to it by hand in the column mapper.
Formatting and cleanup
LinkedIn Connections exports rarely match the format Pipedrive expects. Fix these first.
- 1.Combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field
- 2.Lowercases and trims email addresses
- 3.Matches Company to an existing Pipedrive organization, or creates a new one
- 4.Title-cases name fields
- 5.Trims whitespace and removes blank rows
Or skip the manual work
Operelio runs this cleanup and mapping for you. Upload your LinkedIn Connections export and download a clean file for Pipedrive, or connect Pipedrive and push the records straight in. You see what will be created and updated before anything is written.
LinkedIn Connections to Pipedrive FAQ
How do I get my LinkedIn connections data?
Go to Settings, Data Privacy, Get a copy of your data. Select Connections and request the download. LinkedIn will email you when the file is ready, which can take up to 24 hours.
Why does this template combine First Name and Last Name?
Pipedrive contacts use a single Name field, not separate first and last name fields. The template combines the two columns with a space so the contact records look right in Pipedrive.
Why are most email addresses blank?
LinkedIn only includes the email of a connection who turned on email sharing in their privacy settings, typically 10 to 30 percent of rows. Connections without a shared email still import into Pipedrive, they just won't have an email until you add one.
What if the contact's company doesn't exist in Pipedrive?
The template creates a new organization in Pipedrive and links the contact to it. If the company already exists, the contact links to the existing organization.
Where does the LinkedIn profile URL go?
Pipedrive contacts have no native LinkedIn field, so the template leaves URL unmapped. To keep it, add a custom Link field on the Pipedrive contact called LinkedIn and map the column to it by hand in the column mapper. The Connected On date works the same way with a custom date field.
What's the difference between this and the Sales Navigator export?
The Connections export comes from your personal LinkedIn data archive and includes everyone you're connected to, with a lean seven-column layout. Sales Navigator exports come from curated lead lists via a scraper like Evaboot and carry many more columns, so they use the separate LinkedIn Sales Navigator to Pipedrive Contacts template.
Will this create duplicate contacts?
Not if you push from Operelio. A push matches on email: an address already in Pipedrive updates that person, a new address creates a contact, and the report before the push tells you which rows fall where and why. If you download the file and import it in Pipedrive instead, a different rule applies. Pipedrive's import dedupes on Name plus one of email, phone, or organization. Most LinkedIn rows have no email and the export has no phone column, so dedup falls back to Name plus organization. Review your Pipedrive import settings to control how those rows match existing contacts.
