Operelio vs n8n
Pick Operelio if you want lead flows without building them: trails run each file, from every source, through cleanup, verification and ICP filters, check your CRM and route contacts or companies, on arrival or on a schedule. Pick n8n if developers want to build or self-host it.

Quick answer
Choose Operelio if
- Leads come from several sources, and nobody on the team wants to build, host or maintain a workflow for them.
- A file lands every weekday and should be cleaned and pushed at a set hour in your time zone (Starter and up).
- You want the flow as hands-off as you choose: approve every push, or let clean runs send on their own.
Choose n8n if
- You have people who write code and want full control over every step.
- You want to host the tool yourself and process files on your own servers.
- Leads arrive from many live sources and APIs, not only as files.
Operelio vs n8n side by side
| Compared on | Operelio | n8n |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Four jobs, no code: lead flow and routing (trails), Bridgeant AI cleanup, 17 cleanup and verification tools and a CRM import that reports first. | A workflow builder with nodes and code, in n8n's cloud or self-hosted. |
| How leads get in | Lead files by upload, email to the folder's own address or the API (Pro and up). Runs on arrival or on a schedule. | Any trigger you build. The Extract From File node reads CSV and XLSX files. |
| Cleanup and verification | Dedupe, find and replace, ICP filters, Do Not Contact screening, Company Active Check and email verification (credits), picked from a list with no code. | Built from nodes and code you write. |
| Checking against the CRM | Built in, for every row, against your live CRM: people by email address, companies by website or name. | Create-or-update for HubSpot contacts and for Salesforce accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities and custom objects. The Pipedrive node has create, update and search. |
| Routing to reps | Contacts or companies go to one rep, a column of rep emails or round robin that shares each file's rows in turn. | Built with nodes and code. |
| Before the push | A report of what will be created, updated, skipped or refused, with the reason for each skip and refusal. | A Slack "send and wait" step pauses the workflow until someone responds. |
| Price | Free: 15 of 17 tools. Trails and CRM push from $39 a month billed monthly. | Starter €24 a month billed monthly, for 2,500 executions. The self-hosted Community edition is free. |

Key differences
Ready-made trails or a toolkit
A trail is ready-made for lead flows; n8n is a toolkit you build with. Setting up a trail means picking a template, such as new leads coming in or handing leads round the team, then choosing its cleaning steps, CRM mapping, owner and when it runs.
In n8n you build the workflow from nodes and code and maintain it; if you self-host, you run the servers too. For a technical team, that control is the appeal.
Cleaning and checking before the push
Operelio's cleaning, verification and CRM check come built in. A trail dedupes the file, keeps only the people you sell to, verifies emails (credits), formats each row to your CRM's own fields and checks it against your live CRM, with warnings for values the CRM would refuse.
n8n has CRM nodes with create-or-update for HubSpot contacts and for Salesforce accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities and custom objects. The rest, such as dedupe inside the file or email checks, is yours to build.
Approval and autonomy
Both can hold a run for a person. A new trail holds every push next to the report of what it will change; once you trust it, clean runs can push on their own. A run that would change a filled-in CRM value, or that a safety check flags, still waits.
n8n's Slack "send and wait" step pauses the workflow until someone responds. Operelio also offers a free dry run and a test run that never pushes.
Where n8n is better
Self-hosting
The Community edition is free to run on your own servers, so the files are processed there.Any API, any code
Technical teams can write code and connect any API inside an n8n workflow.
Questions
How much does n8n cost?
From €24 a month billed monthly on Starter, or €20 billed yearly. Pro is €60 billed monthly. The self-hosted Community edition is free.
Can n8n read CSV and Excel files?
Yes. The Extract From File node reads CSV and XLSX files, and you build the steps that clean and load them.
Can n8n import leads into Salesforce, HubSpot or Pipedrive?
Yes. Its nodes can create or update HubSpot contacts and Salesforce accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities and custom objects, and create, update and search in Pipedrive. You build the steps around them.
Do I need to code to use Operelio's trails?
No. You can start from a template, then choose the cleaning steps, the CRM mapping, how owners are set and when it runs. Building and dry-running a trail is free; switching it on and pushing to the CRM start on Starter.
Is Operelio an n8n alternative?
Yes, if nobody wants to build, host or maintain the workflow. A trail comes with cleanup, verification, ICP filters, a CRM check and owner routing ready to use. For full control, custom code or self-hosting, n8n fits.
