- What the AI reads
- Some AI tools send the rows they work on to a language model; others work from a summary or a sample. Check which, especially for bought or third-party lists.
- Fixed tools or generated output
- Tools that run fixed steps give the same result for the same file. Generated text in each cell can vary and is harder to check across thousands of rows.
- How it reaches the CRM
- A clean file still has to be imported. Look for a report of what will be created, updated, skipped or refused, and for how many records it writes at once.
- How it is metered
- AI tools often charge per cell, per row, per message or per task. Work out what a full list costs, not one test run.

Yes. General assistants can fix formats, split columns and remove duplicates in a file. The step most of them leave to you is the import itself: matching rows to existing records and seeing what will be created or updated before anything is written.
Which AI cleaning tools do not send my rows to the model?
