Who hears about a trail
Each trail has its own list of people to tell. You choose them when you create the trail, under Who hears about it?, and you are on it to start.
To change the list, open the trail's own page and go to Who hears about this trail. Add someone from your workspace, or remove them. Only an admin can change it, and a trail can have up to 25 people.
If the list is empty, or nobody on it is still in the workspace, the workspace admins are told instead.
What they are told
Everyone on the list gets a note in Operelio. Most events send an email too.
| When | In Operelio | By email |
|---|---|---|
| A push is waiting for review | Yes | Yes, with Review this push |
| A run stopped or failed | Yes | Yes, with See what happened |
| The trail stopped and needs attention | Yes | Yes, with Fix this trail |
| The plan no longer includes live trails, so the trail was paused | Yes | Yes, with See your plan |
| A run finished with nothing to flag | Yes | No |
When a push someone approved comes back because your CRM, its connection or the file changed, the email says it changed since you looked at it. A test run that ends with a push to show tells nobody.
Choosing what a trail tells people
On the canvas, open Trail settings and go to Notifications. Under What is worth telling you about, you can switch off any of these for this trail except A push is waiting for your review, which always notifies.
The switches start on. Switching one off stops both the note in Operelio and the email for that trail. Only an admin can change them. A change is made on the Sandbox tab and applies once you press Put it live.
Your own trail emails
Under Notifications in Settings, switch off Trail alerts to stop all trail emails to you, held pushes included. You still see the notes in Operelio.
How often one problem emails you
When the same problem stops run after run, you get one email for it, not one per run. If a problem with the file happens twice in a row, the trail stops and you get one more. A problem with the trail itself, like a lost CRM connection, stops the trail the first time. After a run goes through cleanly, the next problem is new.
A held push sends one email. If it comes back for a new reason after someone approves it, you get another.
Files emailed to a folder
A file emailed to a watched folder, or an email the folder turns away, notifies the folder's own list, in Operelio only. That list is set on the folder. The Watched folders guide has the details.

Not for one trail: a held push always notifies. Each person can switch off Trail alerts to stop their own trail emails, and still sees the note in Operelio.
Who is told when nobody is on the list?
The workspace admins.
Does a member get trail emails?
Yes, if they are on the trail's list. Only an admin can change who is on it.
