What the MCP server does

Operelio's MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read your trails, their runs and leads, upload files and run Operelio's cleaning tools on them, check addresses against Do Not Contact, ask Bridgeant, and, with your yes, pause and resume trails and push results to your CRM. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way AI assistants connect to other apps.

Add Operelio to your assistant once and sign in, then ask in your own words: which leads are held and why, how last week's runs went, or clean this file and give me the result.

Sign in, or use an API key

There are two ways to connect. Sign in with your Operelio account, on every plan. Your assistant opens Operelio's sign-in page, and there is no key to paste. Or, on Pro and Agency, send an API key instead, the same kind the API uses. A key suits a shared setup or a script.

If you belong to more than one workspace, your assistant asks which one to use. It can see only the workspaces you belong to, and loses access to one as soon as you're removed from it.

Add Operelio to Claude

On Claude's Free, Pro and Max plans you add it to your own account. Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector.

1

Open Customize, then Connectors

In Claude, open Customize and choose Connectors.

2

Add a custom connector

Click Add custom connector, and paste https://operelio.com/api/mcp as the server's URL. Leave the other settings as they are, then click Add.

3

Connect and sign in

Click Connect on the Operelio connector and sign in to Operelio. Before you allow it, Operelio tells you what the connection can do: "Claude will be able to work in your Operelio workspaces as you: see your workspaces and jobs, upload files, run Operelio's cleaning tools on them, download the results, see your trails, their runs and leads, pause and resume trails, check addresses against Do Not Contact, push results to your CRM, ask Bridgeant and run the work Bridgeant offers." Then ask Claude about your trails or leads in any chat.

On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector once under Organization settings, Connectors. Each person then finds it under Customize, Connectors, marked Custom, and clicks Connect to sign in with their own Operelio account.

Add Operelio to ChatGPT

Whether you can add your own MCP server depends on your ChatGPT plan and your workspace's settings.

1

Open Plugins

In ChatGPT, open Plugins, click the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server.

2

Name it and paste the address

Enter Operelio as the name. Under Connection, paste https://operelio.com/api/mcp.

3

Set up sign-in and create it

Set up authentication so you sign in to Operelio, confirm the risk warning, then click Create as a plugin. Sign in to Operelio when ChatGPT asks.

Add Operelio to Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code and follow the steps in your browser to sign in.

Claude Code, with sign-in
claude mcp add --transport http operelio https://operelio.com/api/mcp

On Pro and Agency you can send an API key instead of signing in: add --header "Authorization: Bearer op_your_api_key_here" to the same command. Claude Code then uses the key and doesn't ask you to sign in.

What it can do on your plan

Your assistant works inside your plan's own limits, the same ones the app has. A tool your plan doesn't include is still listed, and when your assistant tries it, Operelio answers with the plan that opens it. Pausing, resuming, pushing to a CRM and confirming a trail Bridgeant built or changed also need a workspace admin: you, when you sign in, or the person who made the key.

PlanThrough the MCP server
FreeThe 15 free tools on files you upload, your jobs and their downloads, and your trails, their runs and leads. 5 jobs, counted per person over the last 30 days across all your Free workspaces, and files up to 2 MB.
StarterAdds live trails to pause and resume, Do Not Contact checks, CRM pushes and Bridgeant. Files up to 25 MB.
Pro and AgencyEverything above, and you can connect with an API key instead of a sign-in.

A job run from your assistant counts toward the same monthly jobs as the app. Reads don't. When you connect with an API key, each upload, run, pause, resume and push also counts as one of your monthly API calls. finish_upload doesn't, because start_upload already counted. A Bridgeant message counts only when it used one of your Bridgeant messages, and a confirm only once its run started. When you sign in instead, nothing counts toward the monthly API calls.

The tools your assistant gets

Your assistant picks the tool from what you ask. Read tools only look. Run and upload tools make new files and jobs and never change what's already there. Tools that change your trails or your CRM, and the one that runs what Bridgeant offered, are marked, so your assistant asks you before it runs them.

ToolWhat it does
list_workspacesLists the workspaces you can use, with each one's id, name and plan.
get_jobGets a job's status, tool and output file id.
list_trailsLists the workspace's trails by name, with whether each is on.
get_trailGets one trail: where its leads come from and go, and whether it is on.
list_trail_runsLists a trail's runs, newest first, a page at a time.
get_runGets one run, with where each lead was routed, a page at a time.
list_leadsLists leads waiting for review, held, or all, from every trail or one.
get_leadGets one lead and what happened to it.
check_dncChecks up to 100 emails, phone numbers, domains or companies against your Do Not Contact list.
list_crm_connectionsLists your CRM connections, with each one's id for push_job_to_crm.
get_push_statusSays where a job's CRM push stands.
upload_fileUploads a CSV or Excel file sent inside the call.
start_upload, finish_uploadUpload a bigger file: start_upload gives a link to send it to, and finish_upload adds it.
run_toolRuns one of Operelio's cleaning tools on an uploaded file, as a new job. The original file isn't changed.
get_download_linkGives a link to a finished job's output.
ask_bridgeantSends Bridgeant a message and returns its answer, with anything it offers to do.
pause_trail, resume_trailSwitch a trail off or on, with the same checks as the trail page's switch. Asks you first.
push_job_to_crmSends a finished CRM Formatter job's output to your CRM. Asks you first.
confirm_bridgeant_actionRuns what Bridgeant offered, once you say yes. Asks you first.

ask_bridgeant only talks. When Bridgeant offers to do something, your assistant runs it with confirm_bridgeant_action, which asks you first. A read-only API key gets only the read tools.

Files in and out

upload_file sends a file inside the request, up to your plan's file size or 3.2 MB, whichever is less (2 MB on Free). For bigger files, start_upload gives your assistant a link to upload to that lasts 15 minutes, and finish_upload adds the file to your workspace. Either way, your assistant gets a fileId to run tools on. The file isn't added to Files.

When a job finishes, get_download_link gives a link to the result that lasts 15 minutes. File contents never come back inside a tool's answer, only the link.

Limits

Each sign-in or API key can make 60 requests a minute to the server. On top of that, for each person or key and for each workspace, there can be 60 reads a minute, 10 uploads a minute (upload_file and start_upload) and 10 job starts a minute (run_tool and confirm_bridgeant_action). Past the requests a minute, the server answers HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Past a per-kind limit, the tool answers with code rate_limited and how many seconds to wait.

Frequently asked questions

Does Operelio's MCP server work on the Free plan?

Yes. Sign in from Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code and your assistant can run the 15 free tools on files you upload, check your jobs and download the results, and read your trails, their runs and leads. Free's 5 jobs are counted for you over the last 30 days across all your Free workspaces, and files can be up to 2 MB.

Can my assistant change something without asking?

Operelio marks every tool that changes your trails or pushes to your CRM, and the one that runs what Bridgeant offered, and assistants ask before running a tool marked that way. Operelio's own checks still apply on every call: your plan, your role, and for a key, its access.

Do MCP calls use my monthly API calls?

Not when you sign in. Jobs count toward your plan's monthly jobs, as in the app, and reads count toward nothing. With an API key, each upload, run, pause, resume and push counts as one call. A Bridgeant message counts only when it used one of your Bridgeant messages.
